Today I'll be gathering dandelion blooms , hope to gather a gallon and start some dandelion wine. I'm also gathering the last of the violets , hope to harvest enough for another batch of jelly and some for potpourri.
I love dandelions. They grow so abundantly here - sometimes the fields are completely covered with them. So far we've only had a very few in some of the yards - none in our yard so far - we had only a few last year - hope they reseeded themselves liberally.
Hi Robin , Thanks for dropping by , I will keep you updated about the dandelion wine. This will be my first attempt at making it and it will probably take awhile to gather a gallon of blooms , I may have gathered 1/4 yesterday. I froze those and will keep picking daily.
Hi JoAnn , I think dandelions are beautiful and they have so many healing properties. It's sad that so many people just consider it a weed. I plan to make dandelion jelly soon.
Flassie , I've never made dandelion jelly before. I think Lib made it just like violet jelly , except she used dandelion blooms , you need to remove all the green part from the dandelions , use petals only.
Lib has a comment on this page , click on her name and it will take you to her blog. Her post about making dandelion jelly is very good ~ check it out

Annette , I just cooked a batch of dandelions and they were delicious in the recipe I used. I'll be harvesting and freezing as many as I can.
