Spring Break / Celebrating Earth Day

Curious J has spring break this week , no pre-school. He's staying with me , Little Froggy is staying with my Mom this week , so Jake and I can spend time together , creating and doing big boy things.

He has been helping feed and water the animals. Shadow enjoys chasing him , but he gets to rough with him at times. He's just playing , but he's a big pup now and doesn't know his strength.

We're celebrating earth day this week , since he'll be back in pre-school next week. Yesterday we made an earth sun catcher and planted my rosemary. Today we made a diorama of the ocean and baked Mother Earth oatmeal/raisin cookies.

  2. How did you make a Earth Sun Catcher?

I haven't made the jelly yet.
I am waiting for the sun to
    shine and hope that more
    dandilions come in bloom. We
had rain and don't want to
    pick in the rain either.

I think I should gets some
    greens too and make that
    recipe from Marthas.

    Fun to have your grandchild
spend time with you. They grow
up so fast. I have a dgnph that
    is already 6wks old.

I wish I had my grandchild living
    closer to me.

God Bless You and Yours and Your Creative Life and Health!!!

  3. Lib , Funny how things come full circle. I had 2 girls , now I'm getting a chance learn about boy things with the Grands.

Flassie , We made the sun catcher ( maybe we should call it a Earth Catcher , LOL) with crayon shavings and wax paper , touched with a warm iron to melt the shavings. Curious J really enjoyed shredding the crayons , we used an old cheese grater and a pencil sharpener. We punched a hole and hung it with fishing line. It's very colorful , the batteries in my camera were almost dead , so the pic doesn't justify it.

I've really enjoyed having Curious J this week , we've had a blast.

  4. PS. When you get a chance
    scroll down my blog and
    take a look at a weed I
    took a photo of.

I've tried to find out what
it was and if it is edible
or not. But the weed ID site
doesn't have it on their site.

    God Bless You and Yours!!!

I know, I know I am suppose to
be on blogging break. So I am
going now to darn socks and
    whatever else that needs tending.
