Curious J , my oldest grandson was here for the weekend , he was in charge of gathering the eggs Saturday and Sunday.
Waiting for his chicken " Mya " to lay an egg ..................
still waiting and getting impatient , see that look on his face (LOL).
I finally talked him into doing something else , while we waited.
He collected 6 eggs , that's the most we've ever gathered in a day , so all the chickens are laying now , for sure. He was so happy , then on Sunday he gathered 6 more eggs , today I only gathered 5 , those hens must really like him ( LOL ).
The hens had been laying for 3 weeks yesterday and we've collected a total of 66 eggs ( Yay ! )

Sounds like Omlets should be on the menu at your place! We are considering getting four to six chickens but I want to wait till fall now!
ReplyDeleteSweet! What did you make
ReplyDeletewith the eggs? Omlets? I
have been having scrabbled
eggs lately.
Poor little guy waiting for
his chicken to lay an egg.
Is that a homeade swing set
in the background of the tire
swing?
If you go to Pino's Blog
and scroll down to a Rooster
Apron has arrive, take a look
at it. It is made out of a
Chicken feed sack.
God Bless You and Yours!!!
Ahhh so sweet - waiting for his chicken. Great going chickens, that's a lot of eggs. Our kids had chickens when they were in grade school in Kansas - they sold most of the eggs - it was great fun
ReplyDeleteGrandchildren are so fun!!! Mine has been here too. What are you going to make with all those eggs?
ReplyDeleteCurious J is so cute waiting for his hen's egg. You must be enjoying those nice fresh eggs.
ReplyDeleteHi Carol ~ I haven't made omelets yet , but may have one for brunch today.
ReplyDeleteHi Flassie ~ I love eggs scrabbled with cilantro , cheese and onions ..... yummmmm , they're so good.
Dh bought the homemade swing frame many years ago , it did have a porch swing , but over the years the swing wore out , so now we use the frame to hold a baby swing.
I need to popover to Pino's blog and check-out that aporn , sounds wonderful.
Hi JoAnn ~ I'm sure your kids enjoyed the chickens and learnt a valuable lesson about money too , that's great.
Hi Gemma ~ I've cooked overlite eggs for DH , egg salad , scrabbled omelets (LOL ) and I'm sharing some with my Mom and kids.
Hi Vickie ~ Yes , were are enjoying the fresh eggs , they taste so much better than those store bought eggs.
~ Blessings to Everyone ~
I sure wish you could edit comments , that should have been we're Vickie. I've been in the garden all morning , bit tired and sun baked.
ReplyDeleteI have some cilentro and onions
ReplyDeleteand cheese. So I am going to go
make some after I post this.
I put up a link at your
Elderberry blog entry
at Herbal Spirits.
My scrabbled eggs were more
like scrabbled omlets too. lol!
I did put some in a tortilla
yesterday.
I happened upon a blog and
seen a woman who was eating
a seagull boiled egg. She
said she would try anything
once. She didn't like it.
Said it was to fishy tasting.
God Bless You and Yours!!!
PS. Is Eggs Overlite the same
ReplyDeleteas Eggs Over Easy?
Yes Flassie ~ Over easy is the same , I like them that way too , but I like to cook my eggs different ways , not the same everytime. I usually eat my scrabbled omelet with toast , but I think I'll try them with a tortilla next time I make them .... um breakfast burrito.
ReplyDeleteI'll check-out that post on the herbal blog soon.
~ Blessings ~
