I took a nature walk Monday and found this little bird nest , the bird family had moved on and left it's wonderful creation.
We've had enough rain in the last week , that mushrooms are popping up everywhere. Although I can't identify them and wouldn't put them on my dinner menu ..............................................
I do enjoy their magical beauty ............................
the different textures and colors .................
and their natural surroundings.
I don't know what this plant is called , but it sure is lovely.
The sweet goldenrod is starting to bloom and the pokeweed berries are turning dark. I know Autumn is not far away when I see this happening.

The Plantain seeds are turning brown , they're almost ready to harvest.
And I found a new Yucca sprout that is thriving since it's been so dry and hot this Summer. I need to put something around it , so hubby doesn't mow it down. He doesn't have the same fondness of these so called weeds that I do (LOL).

Nice photos and thank you for the nature walk!
ReplyDeleteThese are lovely pictures. I like some of those toadstools the best. They make me think of gnomes and fairies.

Those who don't live in the midst of nature's magic are missing out aren't they? XOXO
ReplyDeleteOh I loved your nature walk JoyceAnn...so lovely to see all that nature gifts us with...many magickal things to feast the eye upon.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting ready here to receive some rain and perhaps some wind and hail...moving in this afternoon but I shall welcome it to relieve the very warm temps we've been experiencing.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Blessing of Peace...
Hi Anishinaabekwe ~ Thanks and you're welcome. Glad you came by for a visit.
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa ~ They do bring visions of faries and gnomes to mind.
Hi Carol ~ That's so true !
Hi WolfSong ~ You never know what you'll find when you take a nature walk. It's an adventure everytime! Hope the storms aren't to bad , stay safe. Hope your weekend is great too.
~ Many Blessings to You All ~
Those seeds will be nice to
ReplyDeleteharvest. I stay away from
mushrooms too, but they are
really pretty!
I have family that go out
and pick morel mushrooms.
One sil that does it has
never tasted them either.
They sell them.
Down by the pond where I
like to go on nature walks
I've noticed the city has
sprayed. So now I can not
eat anything. They did a lot
more spraying this year. It
upsets me because the anmials
and birds and bees I feel are
getting poisoned by doing this.
Plus the ground and water. They
sprayed by the pond too.
God Bless You and Yours!!!
Hi Flassie ~ You would think with all the environmental awareness today , they would realize the damage they're doing. That saddens me too , so sorry to hear you've lost your place to forage. I know how much you enjoy your walks and foraging.
ReplyDeleteI don't go out much anymore , but the other week when Dh and I ventured out to the Goodwill Store , I noticed they're spraying under the powerlines. Everything was dead underneath them , it upset me too.
Let's pray our governments and big business change their ways before they completely destroy our beautiful Mother Earth.
~ Be Blessed ~
I am down here by your
ReplyDeletemushroom blog entry where
the plantian are about ready
to harvest.
I took a blog entry out of
draft about the benefits
of Psyllium seeds. It is
titled Leaf Lady.
