Rainy Independence Day ..................................

But , I was thrilled. I enjoyed the rain much more than I would have enjoyed fireworks. It's been so hot and dry here , the little rain we have received over the last few weeks hasn't helped the garden much.

It's been so hot and dry , I haven't spent much time in the garden lately , we did get 3 cucumbers before ...............................

something ate the leaves off the vine.

We've gotten a few squash , but the vines have almost dried up even though I've been watering them each day.

This tomato vine was full of tomatoes , but something ate them also. I've been slack this year and didn't put a scarecrow out. I guess I need to make one this week and put her to work. It's been a bad gardening year for us , we planted the summer crops late and it got so hot and dry that the plants haven't grown the way they should have. I hope the rain we received yesterday will revive most of the plants , but it may have been a little to late.

Hope you had a Great 4th !!

Good Morning JoyceAnn...

I will pray for life-giving rains for your area...I am praying for the same for ours. We are supposed to get some this evening and I hope it come to fruition.
I stayed indoors most of the day as it was just too hot to be outside. My tomatoes have a few coming on now but I don't think I will have many this year...seems to be a bad year everywhere for crops?
Anywho...Be Blessed Dear One!

Sorry to hear about your gardening woes. I was concerned when I planted late and lost some things to the heat, but I replanted some and things seem to be doing well now. Hope your rain was enough to help.

I didn't eat your garden! I wish I could have, but it wasn't me!

our goats got one of our tomato plants.. skinned all the leaves off it... the chickens love tomatoes if they can get in there...we had much needed rain this week and the weeds have jumped out ahead of anything else.. we have had plenty of cukes and squash. Hope your rain puts new life in all your plants...
