~~ Garden Time ~~
I haven't had much computer time , the garden is bearing and I've been busy.
I'm trying to make sweet pickles for the first time. They look pretty good so far.
It's an 8 day process , so you have to be patient.
We've cut all the broccoli and cabbage and got the onions out this week. Will be awhile before we dig the potatoes.
Cucumbers , peppers and Squash are bearing like crazy , you have to pick everyday.
We are going to freeze some of the squash and pickle the peppers. Some of the peppers will be chopped and froze to use in spaghetti or recipes calling for peppers. We did this last year and it really saved alot of money during the winter months , when bell peppers were .99 each.
The tomatoes will start turning in July. I'm planning to make salsa when they come in , fresh and canned.
So if I don't post much in the coming weeks , you'll know I'm in the garden or the kitchen.

Ohhh how wonderful. I know that sometimes when making things in the kitchen you need patience. It is outstanding to see the outcome though! Thanks for sharing!
*HUGS*
When I was a youg lass, growing up in W Va....I had to help Mom, Aunt and Granny do all the canning! I hated it! Now I miss it! WE canned and pickled everything in sight! ..BTW: I'm a dill pickle gal myself ha!
looks like you are going to have plenty of veggies this winter! My tomatoes are coming in now so will be making sauces and soaps next week for the winter
I've been wondering what happened to you. When you showed those pics previously of the broccoli I should have known! It's wonderful that you have such a fab garden. Is Mr. Curious Jake helping you pick the veggies?
Sometimes I still miss NC.
Yep, a busy time ahead for you! I grew up on a farm and my dad raised so many things it was great.
He was big on salsa...the hotter the better. I remember picking a beautiful little pepper when I was very little and biting into it...AAAAAHHHHH! I thought I would die. I never did that again!
Someone's in the kitchen with JoyceAnn, Someone's in the kitchen I knooooow. Someone's in the kitchen with JoyceAnn.....canning from what she grows!!! heehee
I still haven't done strawberries....Hopefully it won't be too late!
You're going to have a lot of winter goodies!
