~ A Little Gardening ~

( Before )

Yesterday after lunch , I worked outside in the garden beds , raked leaves and planted some leaf lettuce. The spinach is looking pretty good , I decided to thin it out a bit. I took the small plants that I pulled out and planted them in the other bed between the garlic I have planted there. It's suppose to rain this afternoon , so that should help them take root.

( After )

Garlic and Spinach

It's hard to believe that this is what the garlic in the garden look like last week.

And this is what the garlic in the garden looks like today with70 degree weather , it should really take growth now.

A few of the girls decided they wanted some turnip greens and kale , there's mustard also , but they don't like mustard (LOL).

I just love that last picture of the girls in the garden. It's starting to look like Spring around here also. I saw my first robin this week.

Hi Jeanne ~ If you planted in the Fall , it should be ready to harvest in June or July. You should harvest when the 3 or 4 leaves start turning brown. Hope that helps , just watch it closely. Some types are ready earlier.

Hi Vickie ~ Glad to hear you're seeing signs of Spring too
, because I know you're ready get outside in your garden.

Hi JoAnn ~ Thanks!

It has been spring like here for weeks till the other day it turned cold again. Maybe that is why I haven't had a lot of pep lately.

Enjoy seeing the photos of your garden and your hens!!

God Bless You and Yours!!!

I love to see your garden come to life. We still have snow. It will be nice to have some warm days.
