Visions of Shagbark Hickory Syrup .............


have been dancing in my head.
So yesterday I got busy brewing up a few jars for holiday gifts.

What does it taste like? I never heard of shagbark. I remember you said you were going to make it but I dont recall out of what. Ok Ok I am not going to ask if there is such a thing as a shag tree! Merry Christmas holidays, Ms. Feather Spirits. xoxo

Hi Judie ~ The syrup is made from the bark of the Shagbark Hickory tree , sometimes called scaly bark also. It has a slight nutty flavor , really delicious. Don't feel bad , I didn't know what a Shagbark Hickory tree was until about a year ago. I thought a hickory tree was a hickory tree , but there are several species.
