A couple of months ago as I was preparing to plant the garlic .....
I had a new helper , Mojo ( more of a supervisor .... look at those eyes ... LOL ) that took over Ms. Fern's job. Ms . Fern was the rhode island red hen I lost back in the Spring that was always by my side the past two years as I separated the bulbs into cloves to plant.
I planted 2 rows about the middle of November , but it was the week before Christmas that we mulched the garlic.
The weather has been mild , so it's about 2 inches tall and already popping out from under the deep layer of leaves we used as mulch. It was cold the first 3 days of this week , but it's been in the 60's yesterday and today. This weather makes me want to get in the garden , maybe I'll start planning the Spring garden instead.

there is nothing better than a good stand of garlic.. one of my favorite herbs and smells.... wonderful
Hope it doesn't mess up your garlic. I am amazed at how much you plant. I can never get organized enough to plant garlic in the fall.
Oh...I'd love to walk through your garden with you and have you show me where you've planted this and that. Garlic sounds heavenly and like Janie I love it's wonderful healing smells and properties.
I just got my new Burpee seed catalog and the last one for Cook's Garden of last year...I'm dreaming already JoyceAnn. :)
Here's to Great Garlicking! He He...is that even a word? It is now!

I always plant my garlic in the Fall. We sure have been having mild weather here so far this season. Hope this doesn't mean Spring will be late arriving; hope not. I need to dig in the dirt.... soon.
I wish I had planted garlic last Autumn! I'm happily eating garlic from a local grower and am thinking I'll try to save a few cloves for planting...
Happy Spring garden dreaming!
