The Weather ...........................

was really nice Tues. and I couldn't hold myself back from the garden any longer. I was going to move my asparagus back in the Fall and never got around to it. So I decided to move it and hope there wouldn't be any problem with moving it at this time of the year. We have mild winters , so hopefully it will be o.k. The stalks were filled with asparagus seeds , so I stripped those little red berries to plant.

I dug up the asparagus roots and planted some of them in the two raised beds near Dh's garage. I also planted a couple near the chicken coop , plan to see were it grows best.

I've been peeling , chopping , drying garlic ..........

and grinding the garlic into .........

garlic powder this week too. I haven't tried it yet , but it smells really good. Have you ever made homemade garlic powder ?

You have so much garlic powder! Do you plan on selling it at the farmer's market?

Just found your blog through Farm Chick's... I have never planted garlic, let alone dried it... something new to do! Thanks!

Hi Peggy ~ There's alot work in it , sure hope it's worth it (LOL).

Teresa , it looks like a lot of garlic , but that's a pint jar of powder. I peeled about a quart and a half of garlic and the end product was less than a pint. I'll be selling garlic bulbs at the Farmer's Market so they can make their own garlic powder(LOL).

Hi MaryAnn ~ Glad you came by for a visit. Garlic is very easy to grow , you should give it a try.

Good grief that a lot of garlic! Wonderful job on all of it! I'm just getting this years garlic in so it will be late all around. I use so much of it for worming, I really need a much larger bed for it.
